Website Extra: Recommended Catholic Podcast

As part of our God’s Love Radio apostolate, we look forward to finding and sharing resources that help us encounter God in our lives. Personally, I often find it hard to quiet myself for prayer. Even if it’s quiet around me, my mind is racing and jumping from thought to thought to thought…

Through a post by Kerry Floyd on the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) Blog, I found out about Pray-as-You-Go, a podcast and mobile app that has helped me pray. Kerry described it this way:

Wish you could spend more time reflecting on Scripture? This podcast sends you a daily Lectio Divina meditation on one of the daily readings. Each 12-minute episode is designed to help you to pray wherever you are, whether that’s on a bus, in a car or with your dog in the park (hence the “go” part of “pray as you go”). Every episode includes music, the reading for the day, a few questions for reflection and a closing prayer. They also have an app! Pray-As-You-Go is a great way to incorporate prayer into your life when you’re not in the chapel.

Pray as you go is produced by Jesuit Media Initiatives, a work of the Jesuits in Britain. You can use Pray-as-You-Go with a computer, tablet or mobile app on your phone. Find out more online at http://pray-as-you-go.org/ or search for Pray As You Go in your app store.

This is something I’ve found helpful for my prayer and want to share it with others.
